I have just bought a second hand tower, and it was fine untill we had power cut whilst comp was still on, I now get a message saying missing or corrupt file, windows root 7\system 32 ntoskrnl.exe. how do I solve this, I have no disc for windows xp, and cant download it onto computer because the tower is not working, I am having to use my very old tower, that is on its last legs, and I am no comp wizz, so need a very simple instructions on how to fix this

Try booting it in "Safe Mode"

Turn computer on, and press F8 every couple of seconds until a black screen with a bunch of white options comes up.

Scroll up to "Safe Mode"

See if you can boot into there.
