What gtx480 to go with

Hey everyone. I have a gtx280 that is getting pretty old now and I am looking to replace it. I usually buy evga but since the gtx480 are known for running very hot I am looking at Zotac gtx 480 AMP and I'm looking at the Galaxy 80XLH5HS3PMJ GeForce GTX 480 Super OC Video Card. They both have third party coolers to combat the heat issues with fermi. I know that nvidia is releasing the gts 580 soon but knowing nvidia its not going to be here until 2011. I never have used zotac or galaxy which leads to the question are they good brands? I'm leaning in the direction of the Galaxy because it has a back plate. I had a usb port that was made with cheap metal fall on a 8800 gts and fried the card. I'm kinda leery about galaxy card because its cheaper than the reference gts 480s. What do you think?

More about what gtx480 with
  1. I would pick the Zotac over Galaxy!
  2. How about a free one ? Check out my giveaway thread at the top of the forum.

Also, Go Zotac over Galaxy any day.
  3. Yeah I read they use good components and triple layer pcb not sure if thats not just marketing. They only thing I don't like about the zotac is it doesn't have a back plate.

    I have a gtx280 I don't think I qualify.
  5. the zotac is good and cheap and their coolers are awesum even after ocing and the fan at 100 the temp stays below 80 and without ocing the temp stays below 70
the galaxy reaches a peak of 68 but even 100 is cool for a gpu (just dont try to get it that high but as zotac is cheaper and not much difference i suggest u go in for the zotac
