I'm trying to follow the format on the sticky at the top of the page, so here it goes:

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: By the end of the month

BUDGET RANGE: ~$100 - $150

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, iTunes, Netflix at times

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: nVidia 960 GSO 768 MB DDR3 w/ a 600 watt Rosewill power supply

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Phenom II X2 555 on a ASRock A785GXH/128M Mobo. Running 4 GB DDR2 @ 399 MHz. My old Core 2 Duo died, it was an easy proc upgrade while preserving the memory. 1 320 GB primary drive (Seagate) coupled with a 1 TB data drive (Western Digital Caviar Black)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: NewEgg FTW!

PARTS PREFERENCES: No preference, but I've always used nVidia and I'm curious about ATI

OVERCLOCKING: Probably not

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Probably not considering the price range

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Dell SP2309W @ 2048x1152 (but fine playing games at 1920x1080)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Lifetime warranty would be nice, but not absolutely necessary. I've got a huge Antec case, so I'm not worried about space constraints

CURRENT FRONTRUNNER: SAPPHIRE 100283-3L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102873

Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

thanks malmental

i was pretty much sold on this card, and I see you have it in one of your builds, which is reassuring

i'm also planning on switching out my 4+ yr old primary drive which is bound to crap out on me any day now, that's why i'm keeping the cost down

thanks for the advice
