On board video. How powerful are they?

I'm working on a old cp and I'm curious of just how powerful the on board video is? The board is from a Dell Dimension 4500S and appears to be 4T346. Now, old school as this thing is, I have an even older Monster 3D 4mb card just sitting around. I would like to know if it would be better to use the card instead of the on board.

Since this issue is mobo/graphics, I wasn't sure if this forum or the mobo would be the best to post.

I would stick with the onboard card. It probably has better driver support.

the monster 3d card is a 3D only card i believe, and wont run any recent games anyway, it is best kept in an old machine that you pull out every so often to re-live old games that use 3dfx's GLIDE API. Just use the onboard gfx.

4mb of onboard ram wont even handle the windows desktop for anything past about windows 98, onboard will be a hell of a lot better than that card.
