Hello

I bought the Scythe Kamariki 4 750 watt psu for my SB build. Right now I am going to put it into my Dell XPS 420 with a GTX 570 until I can get all of the parts for my SB build. I am thinking about SLI

Problem is that I found the reviews and many of them say that it is a good psu, not great, not bad but good. It can support SLI. I am worried about the reliability when I start ocing the cpu and gpu. It is 80 plus but does not have a bronze, silver or gold rating.
This is the review for the 550 watt. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Scythe-Kamariki-...

650 watt review showing the rail values for the 750 watt one. http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/powersupplies...

But I found a different one, the Scythe Gouriki 3. The review I read about this said it is a great psu and works well. It supports SLI but it is only available as high as 700 watts. It has a bronze rating.

I read that if someone has a good psu at 700 watts it will support SLI for GTX 570.

So do I return the Kamariki 4 and get the Gouriki 3 or keep the Kamariki? I do not have to SLI, well cant until I do the SB build. I have read that the mb's for the SB only dooes 16x 8x for SLI and that it is not the best for SLI'ing. I read that 16x 16x SLi is best.

I will buy a Antec later but for now these two are what I can afford right now. I am in Japan. So the American brands are expensive here. I am using a giftcard and money to purchase the psu.

Based on the 550 watt review it is a decent PSU although not great. Not worth paying restocking fees over.
The difference between 16x16 crossfire and 8x8 crossfire is nothing to worry about max around 2%. Here is an example using HD5870 http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_5870_PCI-Expr...

So ok to keep the Kamariki 4?
I do not have to pay a restocking fee. If I want to exchange it, I can take it back to get the Gouriki 3.

I would keep the one you have since the testing at hardwaresecrets is much more thorough than the rwlabs test!

So the rails look fine for the Kamariki 4?

Yes 650 watt total for the +12 volts = 54.2 amps which is fine.

The 750 watt version has 650watt available to the +12 volt rail which is the most important rail on the PSU! (it is listed under the individual rail rating in your link)

Ok

So I should be fine with the Kamariki 4. No reason to get the Gouriki 3?

lmao, what the hell did rwlabs test???? how stable their multimeter is?? If your going to review a PSU like that you shouldnt be doing the review or making any recommendations. Its like a car reviewer testing a ferrari and only taking it up to 60kph and saying how well it holds speed at 60kph and doing no further testing. Pointless. You need to read this article titled "Why 99% of Power Supply Reviews Are Wrong" http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/410
