Hi i have a eMachines ET1161-01 Desktop PC Athlon LE-1600(2.2GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB HDD Capacity NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Windows Vista Home Basic i upgrade the HDD to a 320g and put 3g of ram and i put AMD AD5200OCK22GM Athlon X2 5200+ Processor - Dual Core, 1MB L2 Cache, 2.30GHz, Socket AM3, 65W but now i want to upgrade it to a quad core but i dont know if my board will work with a quad in it any info will help me out a lot.

u said to go with a 95 watt i see that my board says to go 89 or lower im also going to up grade my psu to 500 or better and try a AMD II X4 605e what do you think i read it will work ?
 
It's hard to say. Some of those old ddr2 boards will run am3, and some won't. You'll just have to try it. If it doesn't work, you'll have to learn how to change a motherboard and find a new windows copy. Next time if you want to upgrade, I would build it yourself from scratch. my cpu now im running shows a am3 socket in aida64 but i purchased it off tiger direct as a am2 socket but it shows as am3 in aida64 but runs fine no temp problems or nothing ialso have geforce9500 gt card im running system is fine but need to upgrade psu its only 250 my card calls for 300 min so psu will be upgraded 4 sure
