Hello all,
Sorry if i am posting in the wrong place so Mods please feel free to move this in its proper place.
I have been online reading and trying to figure this out but was not able to, so i decided to ask here for help
I have enough old parts laying around to build a PC for my garage :D the only thing i am missing is a Motherboard but i can't figure out which MB will work with all my parts. If you can please suggest a MB for me i would appreciate it very much.
these are my parts
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz 512 L2 cache Venice 90nm and i believe this is it here http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-3500-512KB-Socket/dp/B001GPS7XU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1294000572&sr=1-6
RAM: 2x512 of corsair http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145026
and
2x512 of Samsung M368L6523CUS-CCC http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/productInfo.do?fmly_id=717&partnum=M368L6523CUS&xFmly_id=708
Video card: XFX HD-435X-ZAH2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150390&cm_re=radeon_hd_4350-_-14-150-390-_-Product

I would need a Micro ATX MB for the current case i have.

Someone please help me figure this out
Thanks in advance

First, you need to verify with certainty, which processor you have; either a socket 939 processor (which I believe will only work with DDR RAM) or a socket AM2 processor (which I believe only works with DDR2 RAM). There may be some hybrid motherboards that will accept a socket AM2 CPU and still use DDR RAM. However, before any recommendation can be made, you need to verify which CPU you have.

Thank you for your reply
It is a socket 939
Everything that i was finding as far as MBs is no longer available,
If you can please recommend something.
Thank you

You may be able to find a used socket 939 board on EBAY or Craig's list, but nobody is making new 939 boards, just as AMD is no longer making socket 939 chips.

The Winchester and Venice versions of the 3500+ are socket 939 parts
The Lima or Orleans version of the 3500+ are AM2 parts

There are AM2 motherboards available.

I figured that they are not making them anymore but was hoping someone would know of maybe a newer board that still supports my chip and my RAM.
I really don't want to get a used board.
Thank you for your reply

Thanks for the link
Those seem like used or refurbished boards
After few days of research and reading i have decided to throw away all these parts and build a new cheap machine for the garage :D
maybe something like this
