Hello,

I plan on getting a new OCZ power supply but all the newest ones are too big for my Midi-ATX-case because of the position of my GTS450. Is it okay to have the side-panel off as always and have the power supply unit outside the case. (not mounted to anything).

Or even have it on top of the chassis?

Thank you,
Nathaniel

While I wouldn't recommend it, I don't think it would cause any problems. I usually set up my pc on the floor to make sure it works before I put it in the case. Putting a psu on top of the case wouldn't yield any more vibration than mounting it inside the case (unless you knock it off). What case do you have. There has to be a power supply that will fit in there. I would recommend Antec, Corsair, Seasonic over OCZ anyways.

Couldn't find any pictures of the inside of it but it looks pretty standard. unless the motherboard is turned 90 degrees or something how does the graphics card interfere with the power supply?
