AMD and radeon vs nvidia

so does it matter what type of video card you buy for an AMD build?

Im trying to put together a budget machine.

a local store has

Galaxy 60XMH6HS3HMW GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) GC 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

for $90

and im also thinking about buying a phenom II X4

will this work fine?

or is amd + radeon the choice to go with?

The only time you'll have to consider brands in that respect is if you intend to SLI or CF the cards. Otherwise it's totally A-OK.
