Help, I think I shorted something

I recently decided to upgrade my power supply, case and motherboard. When everything was connected and I was ready to turn it on, nothing happened. When I press the power switch on my case, the fans on the power supply turn on. But then they turn off right away.This happens a few times before it stops completely. There is no sound or lights. I'm just not sure how to troubleshoot this issue.

go over everything you've done, test the psu using the paperclip method and check you connected everything correctly you should have

You did install the motherboard standoffs didn't you?

Did you connect the PCI-Express power cable to the motherboard by mistake?
