1) 6870 is cheaper and faster
2)AMD's confusing naming scheme
3)Both cards are roughly 10 inches long
4)I've not heard of SIGMA
5)You can't go wrong with the Silverstone, Thermaltake or Corsair. Very good PSU's.

Cases come in all shapes and sizes, so I couldn't tell you. Easiest thing to do is turn off your PC, unplug the power cable, take off the side panel and measure (with a tape measure or similar) the distance between the PCI-E brackets and what ever is at the other end of your case (most likely a HDD rack).

If you tell me the name of the case I might be able to find out for you.

Like I said before just wip off the side panel and measure, It'll take you 3 mins :)

I believe the 9600GT 1GB is 9 Inches long, so its likely a HD6870 will fit, But I would check first before buying
