HD supprting graphics card

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a new graphics card that supports playing HD videos smoothly.
I need the cheapest one, no games are gonna be played, I just need it to support playing HD.
The other components:
CPU E6600
2GB RAM
PSU 400W

It really depends on the gen you are looking to get into, because most going back 2 to 3 gens will do decoding in their top shelf cards...

Just to try and generalize it:
anything gt220 and above, 9500 and above 8600 and above will decode in hardware really well
as for amd, not sure but i think anything x5xx and above (eg: 2500, 3500, 4500)

You can always give yourself a budget, then find a card you like and check the manufacturers website for features.
