This will be my knew system

Case-Antec 900 two
CPU-core i7 870 (O.C`ing to 3.6)
Memory-G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
MOBO-ASUS P7P55D-E PRO Motherboard
Cooler-Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU Cooler
PSU-850W Antec TruePower Quattro

only thing i cant decide on is the video card
5870= 550$
GIGABYTE N460OC 1GIG DDR IN SLi =560$ in SLi
GIGABYTE GTX460 768M DDR5 IN SLi=438$
(note these prices are AUD so dont be like wtf 550 for 5870 lol)

which do u think is the better option for video cards.

According to this article, the reference 768mb will use ~8-16 watts less per card than the 1mb. It does vary from card to card, and a factory overclock will increase power consumption.

Tempertures will be about the same for the reference models, but a non-reference cooler will lower temperatures. In general these cards do not get very hot, but with a custom cooler, heat will be vented inside the case. The Gigabyte OC series come with a good custom cooler. The regular Gigabyte GTX460 768mb is a reference design.

dude those prices are terrible - and I assume you're being ripped off for every other part in that system. Please check every price against a few decent stores.....

Try pccasegear.com.au (for delivery) or msy.com.au if you've got one local.

$372 (msy) for a 5870 not 550........$179 (pccasegear) for gtx 469 768mb not $220 or whatever they're trying to charge.....

Just a quick build i've thrown together in 2mins from pccasegear (by no means my best recommendation - and not as cheap as MSY), for you to sanity check against whatever you'd be paying for your pc. GPU wise I wouldn't be going to crazy with the 69XX coming out soon - and to be honest if you can hold out till early next year for the new lineup of Intel / AMD chipsets/cpus i'd recommend that.

ye well all i got to say is no way in hell im getting a sycthe or megahelms cpu cooler is most important part and silver arrow is the best atm thx for the info on 69XX and new cpus coming out next year i may hold of until then.

if pccase gear not build the system then send it to u then there`s no point cause i got no idea on how to assemble a comp.

and no idea how to o.c either so the place i get my stuff is the only option
