Power Switch cable?

Here's a good one for ya! I just put this machine together and guess what? No power switch cable in the case. I'm using an old case that apparently I must have monkey rigged another case with its' power button cable. The button's still there but no cable. The case is from an

HP Pavillion a6250t.
Product #GN635AV#AVA
S/N MXG74401K9

If any of that helps....

and this is it here....

Is it even possible to find such a thing, or do I just need to get a whole new case? I probably should anyway because I don't think it's a real good cooler but I was just trying to save a buck.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

More about power switch cable
  1. you just need some sort of momentary switch, a two wire header to MB, and a way to activate it.....

How well it integrates with your case design/front panel and how important that is, is up to you. New case seems an expensive option, IMO.
  2. Hey mdd1963 thanks for the reply I appreciate it..... Unfortunately it doesn't really tell me how to do it.

What I'm wondering is if anyone knows where to buy such a cable, and/or switch?

My board is an MSI H55M-E33

    http://us.msi.com/index.php?func=pro...d_no=1944#menu

front panel connector is a JFP1
  3. You can buy extension cables. My choice is:
    Extension cables
    http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g44/c34/s276/list/p1/DIYMod_Parts-Wire_Management-Extension_Cables-Page1.html

Get a power switch extension cable and cut off the male end. Then solder a push button switch to the end. If you need, you can splice extra wire in to make it longer.

You can also use salvaged wiring from an old case.

Checkout the little "front panel breakout box" in my breadborading thread:

for what you can do with salvaged wiring.

    Thank you very much JSC!

I think I might have it figured out,

If I get two of these...

    http://www.frozencpu.com/products/18...?tl=g44c34s276

    and one of these...

    http://www.frozencpu.com/products/95...l=g52c399s1034

can I just cut off the male ends and sodder the wires to that button?

    Thanks again!
