Mobo question: Asus M4N68T-M V2 vs Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P

I am bulding a budget gaming PC that I will do some moderate overclocking on. I'll be using a Phenom II x 4 955 (Black Edition) with 8GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3 1866 and an EVGA GTX 550 Ti 1Ghz.

My question: Which motherboard is better for gaming using the above combination of processor/memory/video card? On the one hand, the Asus supports up to DDR3 1800 when O.C., whereas the Gigabyte only supports 1333. However, the Gigabyte has a 5200 MT/s FSB, while the Asus uses a 2000 / 1600 MT/s HyperTransport 1.0 interface.

I've isolated these two motherboards because they are similarly priced and I can buy them in Denver. I'll be running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

*EDIT*: I guess links to specs would be nice, huh? :)

  1. I would use the gigabyte board, with the dvi port and it probably has the dual bios feature, which can save your board from a bad flash.
  2. Thank you for your feedback.

The DVI port isn't really a concern, considering that I'm using a GeForce GTX 550 Ti (which has two DVIs + a mini HDMI).

    I'm more concerned about performance.
  3. They're about the same performance wise.
