If you get a wireless router it will come with all the documentation you need.

Which router do you have? ( connects to your providers box)
Which adapter do you have? ( connects to the router wirelessly)

and the type of internet connection sometimes matter as its AT&T it would be a DSL connection...you might want to know the login credentials for the internet connexn to be on the safe zone to prevent bottleneck during configuration...if your router's a NETGEAR kb.netgear.com might be of some help..its their official knowledge base...
