Hey Guys,

Please help me..!! I have got the following configuration but my Graphics Card is showing running at only X8 when it supports x16.

Ram : G-Skill 2GB DDR3 * 2 1600MHz New
AMD Phenom II x4 955 New
MSI 890FXA-GD70 New
Nvidia 9400 GT Old
Corsair TX 750W New
HDD WDC 1TB Caviar Green New

All the equipments except for my Nvidia 9400 GT card are new..
I am not sure what to do.. Is the motherboard ok or what..
I have plugged it in E1 PCIe port..

Please suggest what should I do.

Have you tried using the card in different PCI-E slots?

The first pci-e slot that is closer to the CPU is always the fastest and runs in x16 put in there.

With a 9400gt it doesn't matter if it's x8 or x16 the card isn't going to use the provided bandwidth of either.

I tried in all the slots, but it didnt work good... Did something with the PCI Latency Timer which had options 32, 64 128 .. reseated the card twice, thrice and finally it all started working at X16 speed.. phew.. what a relief...

Can somebody tell me what is the PCIe Latency Timer that I saw in BIOS..
