hey guys i just got my new hardware and i notice that the shape for the eatx 12v mobo connection is different then the psu connector... is it still safe to use or what should i do

i have asus m4a89gtd pro mobo and antec EA-500d green psu

am i using the wrong connectors? the antec website says "8 (4+4)-pin ATX12V/EPS12V connector for CPU"

do i need to use both 4pin connectors? the one 4pin fits perfect. but, the second connector has a different shape layout.. on the second connector all 4pins have the half rounded square shape. instead of the

square/half rounded square
half rounded square/square

i did notice there was a black plug in the eatx 12v on the mobo blocking 4pins should i be only using the one 4 pin connector?

thanks for your help!

If both your motherboard and PSU have 8 pin connectors, use 8 pin connectors.

Corsair does the same thing with their "+4" connector. With all the PSU pins a half rounded shape, you can use either half with a 4 pin motherboard.

Clip the two halves together and use the entire connector. You have nothing to worry about.
