Hi!! I was wondering if an HEC Raptor 500w is a good PSU for this rig:

Motherboard: Asrock 880gm-le

CPU- Phenom II x4 840 3.2ghz

GPU- Sapphire HD 5770

Memory - KINGSTON 2GB DDR3 PC10600/1333

Thanks in advance

If it would last 3 years then it's ok. I don't plan in using it for a very long time. I plan to buy it because that is the only option that i have, because they only have HEC, Huntkey and ATX.

Whether it lasts 3 years or not depends on the load your system puts on it. What are the complete specs for your system?

I would recommend these before the HEC:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%204025%20600014020&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=58|17-139-018^17-139-018-TS%2C17-815-008^17-815-008-TS%2C17-342-039^17-342-039-TS%2C17-703-033^17-703-033-TS

They are all 470 to 500watt units @ less than $60.00US

3 years would be the absolute longest i would expect that unit to last, it probably wont make it more than a year and a half, you never want to run a power supply until it dies because its method of death can kill other things, i really wouldnt buy any lower wattage HEC units or anything that still has a voltage selector switch on the back.

If the HEC and huntkey are the only options you have, im sorry but you are screwed and its time to switch to a new store, huntkey units are notorious for being explosion prone, and HEC units are cheap crap, its time to find another store, there are some that will ship anywhere in the world.

From huntkey and hec?

Huntkey, i dont know of any decent unit, HEC, the upper power level cougar units are good the LEPA 900 is pretty good as well, but all of these are 700W and up and will cost way more than that HEC unit you are looking at right now
