Hello, I just purchased a Dell XPS 8300 desktop. It did not come with USB 3.0 so I would like to install a USB 3.0 expansion card. All of the cards seem to require an internal power connection. I am not that computer literate to know where and how to plug the expansion board in, after I install it in the PCI slot. Is this a relatively straight forward, easy thing to do, or am I biting off more than I can chew? Thanks for the help in advance!

This is what I installed in my computer: http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=100-U3-EU30-TR&family=Peripherals&sw=22

In use for over 5 months. Works perfectly. Easy to install in a PCIe slot, and no external power is required.

Follow basic safety procedures like unplugging the computer from the wall outlet, and wearing an anti-static wrist strap before you open the computer side panel.

Here is the service manual: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xps8300/en/sm/index.htm

It is not a difficult task if you read and study the manual.
