Crossfire between 6 series and 5 series?

Hey, I have a 5870 atm, which is enough at this time. But is it possible to do crossfire between a 5870 and a 6870?

Nope, they have to be identical GPUs.

They don't need to be identical just the same family for crossfire. So 58 what ever will work with each other 57 what ever and so on.

it will not. i know CF are more flexible than SLi but still even that with some restriction.
