Spent the day putting everything together and tried to start it up but it won't post!
- All fans come on (2 case fans, CPU fan and graphics card fan)
- power switch turns it on but after that power and reset switches do nothing (have to turn it off with switch on power supply)
- ram is seated firmly

Any ideas? I'm going to borrow a friends computer and start switching out parts one by one but i can't get it for a few days. Could my parts be incompatible or something? parts list below.

Not trying to be insulting, just a common mistake, you do have the mobo and CPU plugged in right? Any PC speaker beeps?

No advice is insulting to me. A chassis speaker wasn't included with my MOBO or case. You know the more i think about it the more i doubt whether i plugged in the CPU power connector . . . it's getting late and i don't have time to check but thats the first thing i'm gonna do when i get home from school tomorrow (fml i have an all day class on a saturday . . . )

PLEASE DISREGARD THIS THREAD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. I PROBABLY FORGOT TO PLUG IN THE CPU POWER CONNECTOR

I would have had to check. I wouldn't be able to sleep otherwise. :)

And even if you get your system running, you really need a system (case) speaker.

Actually i did get up to go plug it in that night :)  . I couldn't help it. Worked fine after that btw. I also ordered a chassis speaker from newegg. Shouldn't one come with the case or MOBO though? oh well.

One more question: how do i update the bios?

Thanks neededausername and jsc!!

Moderator(s): I recomend that you make this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... a sticky (unless it is already and i'm somehow missing it . . . ) It was extremely helpful to me.
