Why does my FSX freeze with the dialog box stating that it is an
FSX-AppL Error, 'The instruction at
0x7c809823 referenced memory at 0x2c32a6b0', the memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program.

It never used to do this during the past 3 or 4 years!!!

I've been in contact with Microsoft Support, Philippines based, and they have yet to come up with the answer!

They are the creators of this Flight Sim, so, one would think that they might have access to the appropriate resources internally.

It seems difficult to 'cut', through the layers of internal 'gatekeepers' and 'legends in their own minds', type people.

When you search online, there's a million suggestions.

Surely, it's only a bit of computer or software detective work to resolve this matter?

You can't fix anything if you don't know how it works!

Surely, Microsoft would know 'how it works', seeing as they created it in the first place!

Yes indeed, I've done just about all the usual things.
At first, I couldn't activate FSX and sought advice from Microsoft.

After many attempts to fix it, I finally removed it (all) from my hard drive with Ccleaner!

The normal add and remove in the Control Panel didn't remove all traces of FSX.

I reinstalled FSX and activated it online and regulated the usual exemptions to the Norton 360 Firewall.

Everything was fine until I was changing view while flying in FSX, then it just stopped responding visually.

However, the sound continued as if nothing was wrong, oddly enough.

The dialog box came up as FSX-AppL Error.

I had to close FSX down in order t fly again.
