E5300 to e 8500

I have a change to go from my current e5300 to an e8500 at a doable $ figure. Is this enough of an upgrade to be worth doing. The 5300 is in a Gateway dx4822.

for the price its not much of an upgrade...
better getting a cheap quad a basic q8300 quad would give better gaming results. and wouldn't cost that much more but you would get a whole lot more performance.
