Wireless card for desktop

my Belkin N1 wireless Desktop Card, when installed on Vista, freezes the whole computer. Is it the drivers or the motherboard. I have ASUS P5N-D motherboard. Please help.

  1. have you tried a different slot? Since some of the slot share IRQs with slots or build in hardware. Also disable your build in NIC in the BIOS if you are not using it.
  2. i talked to my friend and his computer has both on board and wireless enabled in the BIOS settings and they dont seem to be interfering with one another.

    someone else suggested installing drivers from XP on my Vista Ultimate PC. ( any thoughts on this idea)

    because i put together my first PC i think i did something wrong, i bought it without an operating system.
