There should be a sticker on the side of the power supply.

Sounds like you are going to have to replace it. What graphics card are you getting?

Edit: NM I'm blind. That card is for a workstation and not gaming.

You need something like a Nvidia GT430 or ATI HD5670.....those are about as good as you can get in low profile.

well i am trying to get my cpu to work with eve online and the only thing stopping me from playing is the video card. heres the specs for eve
OS: Windows® XP Service Pack 2 / Vista / 7
CPU: Intel Pentium® or AMD dual core @ 2 Ghz or greater which supports SSE2
RAM: 2 GB
HD space: 6gig Free Space
Network: ADSL connection or faster
Video: 256 MB Shader Model 3.0 Graphics cards such as GeForce 8 class card or higher, ATi 3000 series or higher and Similar chips from other manufacturers
Drivers: DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
DVD-ROM : 2 speed DVD reader or greater required.

because i have a slimline i have to use low-profile/half-height cards. I'm trying to figure out if my computer has pcie x16 because someone told me a pcie 2 and 2 x16 will work with that. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkVv_SyNy9EHtba.PJB4hUjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20110402184606AAQiNoX

They advice me to get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125314
while someone else advice me to get a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102870

I cant figure out if they are a low profile card and I cant figure out if they are a single or double port. Both of them require 400 watts but I research that and people said they work just find with above 200 watt computer if the power supply came with the computer

so idk lol

o you might not know this but i was wondering what happens if you run a card that needs 400 watts and you can give it only half that. do i have to worry about some fire or it not working or something

1st you must have enough power or the card will not work properly.

2nd the GT430 is a newer card than the Nvidia 8 series. It is just their naming scheme. Nvidia cards went from the 7xxx to the 8xxx to the 9xxx to the 2xx to the 4xx and now 5xx series. Confusing huh.

You best bet will be an HD5670. This is a half height one.

I would not try that card without a 300-350w power supply. You basically are not going to run any decent gaming card off 220w

Recommend the 5670 that anort3 provided. The reason NEWEGG is so popular here, about half the cost of "Downtown".

On power: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/01/14/ati-radeon-hd-5670-review/9

There is a good chance that a 220 w psu wil run a 5670. You System should draw less than 150 -> 180 Watts loaded. The question then becomes more a question of quality of the PSU. Bottom line is that even if it does run it, I'd probably swap it out for a quality 350-> 430 W when they go on sell About 45-> 50 Bucks.

they only make up to a 300w that fits my computer. like i checked that before I even posted on here because if it wasn't for my power supply I was going to get some high grade card that fits on my computer
