Whats up everyone. I am going at my first attempt at a mid range gaming CPU. I have a limit of around $2000.00 AT THE MOST, but I would like to keep this AS LOW AS I CAN. I know Sandy Bridge and Bulldozer are coming out, but I honestly dont care. They are nice improvements, but Im not into first generation models so I will wait. Only a few of these items are IronClad. I will be getting the HAF X regardless along with the H70 water cooling kit. The Mouse and Gaming pad are also going to be bought right away unless someone has first hand experience on how bad they are. This rig is Mainly for Gaming. I love BORDERLANDS and I want a rig that can handle it at 1900 X 1080 Res. I also would like to play WOW: CATA and RIFT: Plains of Telara. There are many more games, but Im an EX-360 owner that LOVED Halo 2 and 3. Once Reach came out, I gave up on Halo and converted to PC. I know quite a bit about computers and I can build them, BUT I will be needing some assistance if I come to a dead end. I will also be posting Pictures of my progress and My end result and Maybe run some benchmarks if anyone is interested. Just let me know which ones you want. I know that 1900 X 1080 is not a High res, but thats what I will game at. I am NOT PARTIAL to anything else. I would like to utilize combos, but it isnt necessary. I will not settle for a crappy PSU. I do Like Corsair, Seasonic, Antec. The minimum Power will probably be 800w as I intend on doing SLI or CROSSFIRE in the future. I know that the GTX 560 is coming out in 2 weeks or so and I would Prefer Nvidia over AMD/ATI because Of the driver issues and Nvidia seems to push out more FPS on more games. I want a nice MOBO also that wont crap out on me while running everything. I wanted to Go Intel and I still may switch depending on prices, but I can really only afford 1156 and I hear some rumors of there being something wrong with it which is the reason 1155 is out so fast. I am looking for ANYONE and EVERYONES input whether it be negative or positive about any items I picked and If anyone has any advice on better items, let me know please. If you have any questions, please ask. I will be checking this quite often and will update with a replay. I really want to make a nice machine and I do need help. Thank you everyone. Also, for The razer naga and such, Im 6'1 and my hands are around medium size to anyone that wants to know. I WILL be overclocking My CPU. Not the Ram. I MIGHT OC my GPU.

This will be purchased at in the middle of February

Will this system suffice or should I go intel? I will most likely upgrade in the future once the bugs are out of the new CPUs. I want the GTX 570, but if the 560 coming out is alot cheaper, but still packs a punch then I will choose those

uh dude,
$2000 is MORE than enough to build a Gaming comp
also AMD doesnt support SLI(Nvidia)

*and i swear if i get one person trying to use hacked drivers as a valid argument on that -__-*

Yes, well done. Very droll. But if you plan to run SLI, why bother buying an AMD just now? Why not start with nVidia?

I'm putting together a system at the moment and everything I've read suggests that SLI GTX 460s are both cheaper and more powerful than a discrete GTX 570 and can often even give a discrete GTX 580 a challenge.

From my experience previously of building, it's a bad idea to buy a GPU with the intention to SLI it in a year's time: about 18 months ago, I bought a GTX 275 which was, at the time, in the top three or so GPUs out. There is NO WAY you would now go and buy a second GTX 275 for SLI. Because technology improves so quickly, I honestly think you should buy the GPU you intend to stick with until you're fully upgrading it.
