actually its amd that is supposedly having issues with releaseing thier new 5900 series cards due nov 22nd. but there is no official word on if this is true or not

Ok,thankyou for the replies.I dont think that i can buy it from newegg,if i can i think that i would have to pay import tax on it,so it will not be any cheaper tbh. Its around the £400-£480 over here,depending on where you shop. That said,a little pricey for me at the moment lol,i think the 6870 is about my area at the moment.

suggested price is $499 for the US but i see the price way higher than that at newegg. maybe the price will come down a bit when 69XX series coming out these nov 22nd. but rumor has it that 69XX will got delayed a bit so we can only keep looking and hoping the price to go down

If you're planning to buy it would would strongly suggest waiting for the 6900 series to come from ATI, at the very least, the 580's price will go back down to $499.

Well if we were to get it at the same price you are paying we should be picking it up for around £312,now that would be a bargin lol. Tbh i am a bit of a AMD/ATI fan,on my next build i was thinking of trying Nvidia along with a intel CPU,now i know that intel CPU`s are regarded as the best but power for price i dont think that AMD can be beat.

I've stopped listening to rumors, I think the companies spread them just so they can say "surprise" when they unveil it the day it was scheduled to come out.

Props to Nvidia for fixing the GTX 480, hopefully Amd is right behind them with their next gen, so the GTX 580 lowers in price(went from $500 to $550 overnight!) and Cayman has good price for performance. Too bad they couldn't cut out any transistors, the 580 is still a huge GPU.

It would be best to wait for AMD's response to these cards, their 69xx series is supposed to be out this month, your wallet may thank you.
