So first I was playing heroes of newerth.... screen turns random colors... mostly pink... freezes and I have to restart comp. Then I get black ops......same thing happens like twice... then runs fine. I come home later today... windows turns random colors... freezes comp. I clean the case... re-socket the gpu and still more weird color errors. then finally... it boots.. and here I am writing this.

I have a 780i evga mobo.......bfg gtx 280 gpu........8gb ram..... sad thing is... bfg went out of business so no rma. I just want to make sure that this is a graphics card problem and not a power supply one. My ps is 700w.

This is the card i have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Do you have the latest VGA drivers installed ? also is it possible for you to test the card in another system ?

I don't have another system. Since like 10pm last night though after like 3 boots it has been fine... then I played call of duty for 2 hours and no problems. I'm still not sure what the problem could be. I do have the latest drivers installed.

I haven't overclocked anything. I've had the card for like a year and a half.

so what about this card?

It's just I'm worried it will require 2 6 pin power connectors and I'm pretty sure my power supply doesn't have that
