Mobo for i7 2600k

Hi all,

I am building a new high end rig. I am looking at slotting in the SandyBridge i7 2600k chip
Here.

I am pretty clueless when it comes to a mobo selection though. Can anyone help out?

I was also eyeing this card... XFX 6950 if that helps.


Also, I know that, in the past, new chipsets have had issues pop up that are fixed in later revisions. Does anyone see this happening with this chip? (without using a crystal ball ... ) I'm just wondering, because my main reason I was sceptical about the sandy was I am not usually the guy that goes for bleeding edge.... i like to usually sit back and wait for the collective hive mind to deem things good or no good.

THG, www.anandtech.com and www.hardocp.com each have one or two socket 1155 mianboards reviewed already....all about $200-$185 or so...

(6950 might be an excellent choice, especially in light of the fact that several have successfully easily reflashed the BIOS on multiple brands to essentially become a 6970 !)

get the sapphire 6950 with MIR it's cheaper and comes with a free decent flash drive and cheap shipping

for mobo the p8p67 pro is the best choice
