Looking for a compatible motherboard

Hello all,

I need to upgrade my motherboard to something a bit more "RAM happy".

My current board is maxed out at 4gb so I need a newer board that can handle 16gb or more of ram. I also need to do this while still using my current CPU and ram sticks.

My current stats are:

AMD Phenom 9600 quad-core w/2 2gb ddr2 memory sticks (MOBO is Foxconn).

All and any advice here before I buy one would be appreciated.

That cpu only works with ddr2, so upgrading to 16 gb is not possible on most ddr2 boards and can be quite expensive. I would change the board and cpu also or upgrade your video card instead.

You don't want to use 16 gb of ddr2. It's five times the cost of ddr3. You could buy a new board and cpu to go with your 16gb of ddr3 for the same price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231183
