5770 vs 6850

Why is it that the 6850 is better than the 5770 and i look at their compared stats and the 5770 seems faster?5770 is 800/1200 and the 6850 is 775/1000.How is the 6850 faster?

Go with the ATI 6850. It's the newer generation, refined chipset. Performs better. The 6850 actually outperforms the ATI 5830, which is better than the ATI 5770.

Specs don't always mean anything.

6850 is faster than a gtx 460 wich is faster than a 5770

Last time I saw benchmarks I believe the HD 6850's performance was between the HD 5830 and HD 5850...

The speed that they run at is only part of the equation --- the 6850 has a 256 bit memory bus while the 5770 is 128 bit so the 6850 can process twice as much per clock cycle if they were running at the same speed and the speed difference is less than 50% so the 6850 is faster !
