Maybe this has been posted many times already, but i cant seem to find the right answer...
Im buying a new PC, i'm on a budget so im deciding between the i3-2100 and i5-2300. The 2300 seems much better, but it would take some money which i otherwise could use to aim higher with the gpu, lcd, etc.
Would there be a perceptible (not only hypotetical) difference between those Cpu's for a regular user / gamer? I play the last titles but im not very demanding (planning to get an hd 5770 or 6850)... What do you say?
the i3 is a dual core, the i5 a quad core. in terms of gaming, if you are on a budget and the more expensive i5 is holding you back from getting a better GPU then get the i3. it handles any modern game just fine and will for at least another two years, you can always upgrade the CPU later on when needed.
