Upgrade CPU

Hello,
I want to grade my cpu, on my dell optiplex G620 2.80Ghz it has the foll-wing mother-broad model:0PY423, i have installed (4) 1GB PC2-6400 800MHZ..

What CPU socket is it? I couldn't find it...

Install and run CPU-Z and give all the info you can see.. Apart from that, I think that motherboard is based on an older LGA 775 socket supporting upto Pentium D line of processors (800 MHz FSB).. Thus, a processor upgrade is not worth it.. Best to go for a complete system upgrade.. You'll be surprised by the performance increment (depending on your application usage) you notice..

I am afraid upgrading is just not a wise choice on that PC, you will not get any real tangible benefit!

Yeah, if it only supports LGA775, get a new machine.
