What is this spot on my i7

I took my i7 out to RMA my mobo and saw this. What is it? I dont really want to mess with it since I bought it for $300. Let me know if the link doesnt work

Well, it looks kinda burnt. I am no pro though. I would RMA if it gives you issues.

That was my thought to. So its burnt huh? I should since I am sending my mobo to be RMA too. Should still have warranty since it hasnt been 3 years and I havent OC it yet
