0ct017 memory upgrade

Hello, I am upgrading from a 1.8gz core 2 duo to a 3.06gz wolfdale E6600 cpu on a Dell mobo (0ct017) and I would like to know what the best memory to install would be. Any help would be very appreciated.

Install what the board has already: same speed and brand of ram. Pull a stick to check. Google to find the board specs for the max value per slot; most of those boards are 2 gb/slot but check to be sure. 2x2 gb kits of ddr2 can sometimes be found on craigslist for $20-40 used.
