5850 crossfire dilemma

I bought a MSI 5850 OC card a few months back and thought that i would buy another in a few months for crossfire.But after the gtx 460 came it does not make sense for going the CF way since SLI scaling is just unbeatable.But If go for gtx 460 i would have to sell 5850 at about 70% of the original cost.So my question is should i sell this and go for gtx 460 SLI or just buy another 5850 for crossfire or are there any new options coming by the end of this year and also any news on pricedrops would be appreciated.Thank you all for your time.

Its not worth it to sell your 5850 at 70% of its original price.So Crossfiring it is the best option(which will give you the performance of HD 5970)

But what about "the amazing SLI scaling".I just don't wan't to pay more for a less performing system.

CF has just about the same scaling as SLI does. Sometimes old news is continued to be spread, even when it's no longer true:

Accept at 2560x1600 resolution, where the 1GB of v-ram becomes a problem, CF seems to scale almost the same as SLI.

Well,I am presently at 1600*900 resolution and may upgrade to 1980*1080 later on but these charts don't covver many new games which could have different results with CF.For example:-http://hardocp.com/article/2010/08/04/geforce_gtx_460_1gb_sli_vs_radeon_hd_5850_cfx

2 GTX 460s may scale better than 2 5850s but things change with new drivers.For example Catalyst 10.10(along with its 5 hotfixes) bring numerous performance increases for CF systems.
