Hey folks. I'm looking for opinions & advice on upgrading my GPU on my socket 939 system.

Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
CPU - AMD FX60 2.6 dual Core
3GB PC3200 DDR400 Memory
Geforce 9800GT
Power supply 850 WATT
Stock cooling
Windows XP (32bit)

I'm looking at either the EVGA GTX 480, though I'm leaning more towards the EVGA Superclocked GTX 570, the 570 is as much as I wanna spend on the Card at the moment.

Will this ageing system run these Graphics cards ok? or will I see a performance bottleneck anywhere?

I do plan to upgrade the whole system in the future and carry over the GPU into a new SLI rig, but for now I'm mainly hoping this setup will run Dungeon siege 3 without any problems.

Any advice, tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Dungeon Seige 3 Minimum System Requirements

o OS: Windows XP SP3, Vista SP1, Windows 7

o Processor: 2.6GHz or better

o Memory: - 2 GB of RAM

o Graphics: 256MB DirectX 9 3D video card with Pixel Shader 3.0 (ATI Radeon X1800 or NVIDIA GeForce 8600)

o DirectX®: DirectX® 9.0c

o Sound: No accelerated sound hardware required

o Hard Drive: 4 GB for full installation

o Other: Broadband Internet Connection required for multiplayer gameplay
thes are copied from their website as minimum system requirements.

Wait to see what the reccomended specs are before upgrading.
You system already surpasses the minimum by a good bit.
The cards you listed will work with your current system, but will not reach their full potential until you upgrade your processor to a faster one. Meaning a full system upgrade.
Overclocking your current processor woud help.

Your system will massively hold back anything faster than GTX460 1GB or HD6850. Saving some money now speeds up the purchase of the new system. I would get either of those and then another one when you upgrade your system in the near future.
