Soundcard Recommendation - Optical 5.1

Hi, I'm looking for a soundcard to output movies and music from my pc to my Samsung HT-TZ212 via optical cable.
The HT-TZ212 supports - Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS. I'm not exactly sure of the difference between DTS and DDL. or which is required to output movies and music to my 5.1 system.

Are the Asus Xonar DS Internal Sound Card (PCI, EAX 5.0) or Terratec Aureon 5.1 PCI Internal Surround Sound Card, capable of doing what I need or should I be going for something else, maybe the ASUS Xonar D1.

Now thinking the ASUS Xonar DX/XD 7.1 would be a better option as its pcie, would this do what I need it to do?

For digital output why don't you use your onboard audio?

Digital output on my onboard ASROCK P43DE3 is only stereo, quite annoying really

so you have VIA audio codec ... But according to the website of ASRock for your motherboard I see that at the back you have both: optical & SPDIF outputs...
thus it is not just stereo codec.
maybe you should check the drivers?

typically you go with external audio card if you want better analog than onboard can provide.
