I have a problem that is only present while playing games. It's difficult to describe it, so I post 3 example pictures taken from Two Worlds 2:

This appear mostly on characters, sometimes on other objects, but always at the edges.
The card is running on stock settings, checked temperature and heating, updated drives, nothing helped.

What could be the problem?

More than likely the card is slowly dying. My 8800GT started experiencing similar problems a few months back.

Its either a hardware failure, or the new drivers have unintentional side effects on older hardware.

I've had these for a long time, can't remember. Resolution and AA doesn't matter, it's always there.
These "effects" are most noticeable when playing games that use large terrain and have lots of things in move (RPGs like Gothic, Risen, Two Worlds 2, Divinity 2, etc. and games like Assassin's Creed, Arma2). On the other hand there are no signs of them when playing shooters. Also, I just ran some GPU stress tests, no visible problems.
