Hello,
I'm new to computers and I'm in the process of building my first computer, with a friend's help. Truthfully I think he's getting tired of all of my questions so I've been trying to learn elsewhere... I already purchased an Asus mobo with the Z68 chipset. I was going to purchase a 120GB PCI-e SSD for my OS and other program. How does that work with Intel's Smart Response SSD caching?

It will not use it. If you have an SSD to boot from Intels smart cach is not needed. Intels thing uses a 16 or 32 gig ssd to cach most used files on a hard drive to help with access time. So if you are using an SSD as your boot drive do not use this feature.
