Hey everyone, thanks for the help again. My friend has this PC: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01...

The GPU within it has gone bad, dodgy fan, well known issue apparently, he's going to buy a new one anyway. The budget is £70 and I have come up with this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179670

I just want to make sure that's a decent choice, especially considering the PSU is only 300w.

Thanks for the help!

So would a 240 be ok? According to this it's better than a 4670 http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html although I know that doesnt account for many factors, bt really will the 240 work?

Those cards are neck and neck. For the same wattage and a faster card try a radeon 5670

See here http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2010-gaming-graphics...[4611]=on&prod[4582]=on&prod[4537]=on

The link doesnt work right copy and paste it.
That chart shows a comparison between the 4670, the gt 240 and the 5670

Actually the GT240 is quite better than the 4670.
Along with a boatload of features. New tech(40mm) CUDA, Physx and all dat crap.

This is cheaper and features GDDR5

Yea and the 5670 is quite a bit better then the gt240 at the same power draw plus its quieter.
He seems more worried about performance then price.
