Your Acer Aspire M1610 has a PCI express-16 slot. So, yes... a Palit Geforce GTS 450 1GB GDDR5 video card will fit just fine. Your upgraded 680W PSU should be up to the task.

Be sure you don't get this low profile version of that card which is meant for slim-line cases. You need a full-size card for your computer.

Hi thanks for reply.

I purchased the gts 450 and have had trouble with it once installed computer sluggish then beeps once long slow and crashes.

I believe I have disabled onboard graphics ? I have uninstalled and reinastalled drivers and still when gts 450 is enabled as primary in device manager #, windows becomes sluggish computer beeps and shuts down. I have also checked all parts are securely fastened. still same problems.

Item was brought new and installed fully earthed. There is only 2 things I can think could be wrong pls tell me your opinioun.

1 faulty card
2 psu had no pcie 6 pin connector, so had to use 4 pin 2x molex to 6 pin pci e connector. However my psu only had 1 line left which had 2 4 pin peripheral ends. this is th line I utillized, since I have pondered on wether sufficent amps and voltage could be delivered threw 2 peripherals on 1 line. Now I wonder whether I need 2 peripherals from 2 seperate lines to connnect into my 2x molex to pci e 6 pin adapter.

Maybe my psu is not upto scratch in connectors from point of view pls share some light I confused :pt1cable:
