Hey all!!!!

Here's my dilemma,I already ordered in 4 kits of G.Skill ram#F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR. Will those kits be a good fit into all 8 Dimm slots on my ASUS X79 SABERTOOTH board.

I have called/emailed ASUS and G.Skill both and received confusing information:

G.Skill
Dear Customer

No, if you need 32GB, you need a 32GB kit. You cannot use multiple kits. That will cause headaches you do not want.

Here are our compatible 32GB kits:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=gskill+32gb

As you can see, you are not limited to 2 modules of DDR3-1866. That limitation only occurs when you purchase the 8GB kit instead of 32GB kit.

Thank you
GSKILL SUPPORT

ASUS is a little harder to contact,so I called tech support. Basically my user guide for Sabertooth states the kits I have are only "DIMM socket support (optional) 2 DIMM/4 DIMM/6 DIMM/8 DIMM and only "2 DIMM" column is marked;(
So going by those replies,I'm gonna have to RMA(refund)+RESTOCK FEE these incompatible kits and get a specific "32GB KIT 8x4GB"
Unless you guys can provide proof otherwise.

PS.When I was talking to ASUS rep,he said this kit will be able to populate all 8 DIMM SLOTS

Thanks,

Solution
You could attempt to work with the RAM you have now. There is absolutely no guarantee that it won't work but also no guarantee that it will. I have to say that the recommended kit is my favorite to recommend.

This kit I found off that compatible RAM link you posted:

There really isn't much difference between RAM speeds so it being only $170 it is easily the best option unless you are a RAM overclocking junkie, in which case four of the ASUS rep's recommendation would cost about 50% more and give you the better price/performance over the rest of the proven compatible link.
