Going from 965 to T1000

Did I mess up? I put my 965 on ebay for 100 dollars and got the new T1100 6 core core my M4A88TD-V EVO 3.0 motherboard to improve my vidoe HD playback and gaming. Is it worth it?

965 is actually BETTER for gaming than the 6 core Thubans. The 6 core CPUs are only better if you use multithreaded apps like photo/video editing and rendering software.

Just overclock your 100 to 4ghz, with a decent air cooler, i have the 1090t on the same MB as you, with a Dark Rock Pro CPU cooler, and i get an easy stable 4ghz OC just by increasing the multiplier to x20, the CPU voltage to 1.45v, disabling cool n quiet and CE1.
