Help me build a new system?

Hello everyone,
I need to build a new system for work. I do a lot of CAD/CAM, and 3d graphic rendering. The last PC I built was my personal gaming machine, and I haven't really kept up with the "latest and greatest" over the last year or so. I want a system that will handle my projects with power to spare, and still be very stable and reliable. With a budget of $2000, what would you build? I'm thinking Intel and Nvidia. Thanks in advance, and I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions.
