Is 500W PSU

HELLO guys!! i kinda need your help, I'm planning to buy a GTS 250 with my 500W PSU.

SPECS : Q6600 @2.4 GHz
4GB DDR2 RAM
GTS 250
1 HDD 500GB 7200rpm

Is my 500W PSU enough to supply my rig? please help ! thanks in advance!

Your rig won't require any more than 300W of power even at full load with some healthy overclock on that processor.. A 500W PSU(from a reputed brand outlet) is absolutely fine..

it really depends on the brand of PSU. Not all brands rate their PSU's the same way. For example, cheap companies often rate their power supplies as XXXwatts "MAX" instead of "continuous", like they should be rated. And if they do rate it for "continuous" they often rate it at low temperatures like 25C. In the real world the temp inside your PSU can reach 50C quite easily. Please state make and model of the PSU. Chances are if you paid only $30 or less for the psu it wont produce its rated power.
