Hi guys,
I'm gonna get a new rig sometime this month and I was hoping to get some input from you guys as I don't really have much technical experience or anything like that.
Alright, the budget is about 1.2K, I've chosen the following components:
i7-2600k
Asus P8P67 Pro
WD Caviar Black Sata3 1 TB
Corsair XMS 1600mHz CL9 4 GB kit
Sapphire 6850 TOXIC 1 GB
OCZ Z-Series Silver 80+ 550w
23" 1080p Monitor
1)I'm not really going to overclock.. at least not at the start. I just hope the k series will last me 4-5 years. Will this be a waste then? The k cost a few bucks more only though.
2)Will the 6850 TOXIC allow me to play the latest games at 1920X1080 max resolution? I chose it rather than the GTX 460 due to its high power efficiency and low noise. Most likely I will crossfire another 6850 to go in awhile.
3)Willmy OCZ Z 550w be sufficient to crossfire 6850s? I read that 6850 uses really little power so will my PSU be an issue here? I am very impressed by the OCZ Z 550w value over performance (<$100, Silver 80+). It is a good model right??
So what are your 2 cents people?
