Three questions about Intel Quick Sync

Hi I just had three questions about Intel Quick Sync used in the new sandy bridge processors.

1. I read it only accelerates MPEG-2, VC-1, and AVC is this true?

2. If no than can it increase the speed of AVI/DIVX?

3. Is the HD3000 used in the “k” chips faster at encoding with Quick Sync than the HD2000 used in non-k chips?

  1. I don't think there is a difference between HD2K/HD3K in Quick Sync.

My understanding is that the input/output format would be dependent upon the OEM software that you utilize and how it supports the AVX instructions -- can't really help you beyond that.

Keep on googling -- the more info the better in helping you make your decisions.
