Gents,

I have a small problem with my new build. My case is a NZXT Phantom and my motherboard is Asus P8Z68 - V Pro.

The problem I have is the case has two top panel USB ports. A 2.0 and 3.0. The blue 3.0 port is plugged in and working, but the cable for the USB 2.0 port is a 4 pin connector and there is no spot on my motherboard for a single 4 pin connector to plug in, only a couple 9 pin receivers.

Can I plug in the 4 pin to one of the rows on the 9 pin slot and get it to work that way? The wires on the 4 pin cable are Red-White-Green-Black then a dead spot.

Please help!

Yes, you can, the 2 Rows of pins are for 2 USB 2.0 Sockets. The top row and the bottom row. Depending on whether you have a 4 Pin or 5 Pin connector you can connect it to the respective row.
Before you do that, go through the Mobo Manual for the settings on the USB Header Pins. That will give you the exact idea.
